Cynthia Cosio

Philadelphia Director

Cynthia Cosio was born in Philadelphia and grew up just out of the city in Narberth, Pa. Both of her parents are from Cochabamba, Bolivia, although they met in New York City! She spent her childhood summers visiting her family in Bolivia. She received her Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from Marywood University and then later studied Art Education at Moore College of Art and Design getting her teacher certification.

After college, she moved to Cochabamba, Bolivia where she taught Art K-12 and oversaw Preschool Art Program in an American School. She later moved to Miami, Florida, where she taught Art and enjoyed living 3 blocks from the beach! When she moved back home to Philadelphia (to be here for the birth of her 1st nephew) she taught part time at Independence Charter School teaching Middle School Art while she managed her cousins restaurant- Beau Monde. That is where she met Melissa! She hung up her restaurant hat to work at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. She started out by running the Preschool Program- Museum Looks and Picture Books and eventually became the Manager of Family Studio Learning- managing Children’s Art Classes and  all Family Festivals and Events including Art Splash. She left the museum to become part of the Mi Casita family and couldn’t be happier about her decision!

She lives in South Philly with her boyfriend Michael and their dog Mykonos ‘Myko’ who is named after her favorite Greek Island and one of her favorite vacation spots! In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, going on long walks with Myko and her lazy Saturday mornings enjoying a yummy cup of coffee!
