Our Origins

Located at the corner of 15th Street and Ridge avenue in Fairmount, Mi Casita, which means “my little house,” boasts colorful and spacious rooms that houses children from ages 18 months to five years old.

“We’re completely Spanish immersion, which means there is no English,” says Melissa Page, founder. The former Philadelphia public school teacher speaks three languages. Originally from Texas, she learned to speak Spanish at 5-years-old and started Mi Casita to pass on the benefits of bilingualism.

Now there are locations in Philadelphia, PA and Fort Worth, TX. The Main Line, PA location opens fall 2019.

Speaking Spanish

What is Immersion?

Language Immersion is an approach to foreign language instruction in which the usual curricular activities are conducted in a foreign language, in this case, Spanish. This means that Spanish is the medium of instruction for all subjects and activities at Mi Casita. Immersion students acquire the necessary language skills to understand and communicate in Spanish. Immersion is seen as a highly effective way to learn a second language.

Project Based Learning

Let's build a boat!

Learn by doing. At Mi Casita, we don’t learn every animals name in Spanish and then move on to vehicles, and so on…

We approach learning by doing. With project based learning, we start by identifying a goal. All sorts of things come up along the way, and when immersed in Spanish, we must learn how to communicate new ideas.

Creative Curriculum

Mi Casita uses the Creative Curriculum* as a launching pad for developing a comprehensive Spanish Immersion preschool education. The Creative Curriculum has been nationally recognized as one of the most effective curriculums in the country. Monthly units, or themes, of study will inspire authentic learning in science, literature, art, math/logic, creativity, play, and so much more.

Fort Worth, TX & Philadelphia, PA

With locations expanding across the country, Mi Casita can currently be found in Philadelphia, PA, Ardmore, PA, and Fort Worth, TX

Equal Opportunity

At Mi Casita Preschool, equal educational opportunities are available for all children, without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, gender, age, ethnicity, religion, disability, or parent/provider political beliefs, marital status, sexual orientation or special needs, or any other consideration made unlawful by federal, state or local laws. Our educational programs are designed to meet the varying needs of all students.

What Parents Say

Fort Worth is so lucky to have this amazing program! My kids felt right at home here and my three year old came home singing a Spanish song on the first day! Incredible! If you also have a "spirited" child this project based program is what you have been looking for!
